The “Iliff Triangle Club” in Iliff Colorado is founded for the
purpose of providing a meeting center in Northeastern Colorado with space
for any 12 Step recovery groups to gather and meet in order to serve the needs
of our community. We are the most active little Ghost Town in Colorado (yes,
Iliff really is on the ghosttowns.com registry of Ghost
Towns). We first opened our doors in November 2006 in what used to be
an old Western Tavern. Yup, there is a long story there too.
- To carry the message of recovery and hope. The Triangle Club plans to become a non-profit entity with a board comprised of designated representatives from the surrounding community 12 Step groups wishing to participate and help provide direction. Eventually the Club may be able to own the land and building, thus ensuring that no 12 Step program wanting to meet here will ever have to lose its lease or meeting space.
- The Club could provide an Information Newsletter for 12 Step meetings and activities offered by all the various groups in our service area and help to develop and sponsor a 24 Hour Help Line and call center. The Club could also provide information on meetings and links to recovery programs worldwide.
The Triangle Club has entered into an agreement with the owners of the Iliff Tradin’ Post, Inc (aka the olde Iliff Tavern) to provide meeting space in a room in the back of the building via the west entrance and to enjoy Cecilia’s Kitchen serving some of the best Mexican food in the world.
To help pay the rent and utilities and expenses and provide a basic operating budget we have entered into an affiliate program with several sponsors where many people already shop. Club Membership will be open to everyone in the world wide recovery community who is interested in supporting our "purpose and goals". This is because of the rural nature of the Club location and simple demographics dictates that there may not be enough people in the various local recovery meeting programs utilizing the Club to be able to keep the doors open without looking to the entire world wide recovery community for support.
